I’m a self-taught, left-handed knitter and crocheter. I have a background in environmental chemistry, experience as a middle school science teacher, then shifted gears to stay at home with my kids. That’s when the knitting really kicked up into high gear. I am absolutely a process knitter, over a product knitter, and have too many projects in-progress. For this reason, I’m not interested in design work, but I do enjoy test knitting.
Through test and sample knitting, I’ve had the opportunity to work with new to me yarns and techniques. To push myself further, I’ve enrolled in the Professional Hand Knitter certification course through The Knitting Guild Association.
When I am not knitting or crocheting for myself, I am thinking about these things for work, as I am a social-media account manager in the yarn and crafts industry.
I live in Connecticut, aka The Nutmeg State, with my family and retired racing greyhound.
