Two projects completed!
I rediscovered a pair of socks started last year but never finished for a Yarnathon KAL. One pattern repeat was complete, so I continued on, plain vanilla style, and made them shortie style. There’s still a good amount leftover, so I’m thinking that will be another shortie set. My other idea is to use this yarn and pair it with a contrast color (neon blue maybe?) for one of the patterns in the Sock Synergy collection. To be determined.
Earlier this year I knit a sock sample for Knitted Wit in a soon-to-be-released National Parks colorway. I got to keep the leftovers and Lorajean also sent two minis, so there would be plenty to make a pair of socks to keep. I started to make the Jelly Roll socks, and got as far as the cast on, then it struck me as fiddly so these were on the back burner. When Shannon Squire publishes her Free Time pattern, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I had already cast on with Madge, so I continued on with my National Park colorway. I adore these socks and this pattern is one I will make again. This park colorway hasn’t been released yet, so I don’t want to spoil any surprises, but trust me – it’s gorgeous!
A Quick Cast On and Cast Off
One more pair of socks! These are Down Time, also by Shannon Squire. This year I signed up for Knitted Wit’s HerStory yarn club. Each month the yarn is in honor of a woman in a STEM field. This is the Moduli Curve colorway in honor of Maryam Mirzakhani, an Iranian physicist. The Victory DK base is so wonderful to knit and man, does that make shortie socks go so fast!
Wow! That is an impressive set of shortie socks. I’ve never knit shorties, but given the warm weather, I should.
Ankle socks! so perfect for summer, and they look amazing.
