Sadly, I have not touched my current book in weeks, maybe even months. I did take a few moments this morning to read a few pages of The Rent Collector to be fair! A good friend gave me Ann Hood’s Knitting Yarns last week and I am really looking forward to starting that…. eventually! The whirlwind of last week combined with the most delicious Apple Cider Sangria (a mashup of any number of recipes on pinterest = cider+wine+whiskey+ginger ale+fruit) made me put down my knitting to avoid making careless mistakes. I wanted to work on something while we sitting and drinking, but each project required paying *just enough* attention – a chart here, a cable there, counting stitches, etc – that I didn’t even bother. I have been trying to make up for some lost time while being distracted by new yarn purchases and my ever-growing queue. These projects are making good progress and I know that every little stitch helps. Steady the course.
Lorelai’s blanket grows. I am pleased that I remember much of the rhythm of this pattern from when I made Nate’s blanket; I like to think I am saving time by not consulting the paper as frequently. I have a set of fingerless mitts that just need a thumb and ends woven in, a cowl that is halfway done, and a new sample knitting project. All good and I am enjoying working on all of these. I miss having an autopilot project though so I may have to cast on something to fill that need soon!
Those purple cabled mitts are beauties. So close to being finished!
Thanks Angela! They will be blogged about soon – I have finished them and am working on my FO friday post 🙂
