One of the yarns I spotlighted during April’s A-to-Z Blogging Challenge was the Be Sweet T-Shirt yarn. At some point in April, most likely because the yarn was still sitting out after photographing it, I balled it up and started to crochet a basket!
It worked up quickly (only 55 yards!) but did hurt my hands a bit – remember this is recycled t-shirt “yarn” so it’s cotton, doesn’t have a whole lot of give, and it’s big and bulky! My gauge must have been off as I did not have enough yarn to make the pattern as written, but that’s ok. So what if the basket doesn’t have handles? It is perfect as a yarn bowl for a work-in-progress! It is cheery and sweet and I am happy with it. The judge-y parasaurolophus approves.
That is an awesome basket, but I can see how it might be painful to knit.
Love the colorful bowl… and the judge!
love it.
