Happy 4th of July to all my American friends! It is a rather dreary day here, so that is annoying and giving us a touch of cabin fever. We are having a mostly quiet 4th even with the rain. The biggest plan is to tucker out the kids so that my son will sleep ok tonight in his newly converted toddler bed. We dropped the side of his crib, put on the new bedding with lots of fanfare. He’s in for a nap / quiet time now.
I finished up a swap gift and sent it off. I made a Totoro for my downstream partner. I first learned about Totoro (and Kiki’s Delivery Service) in graduate school. My roommate was from Tokyo and I have her to thank for the introduction. It has been years since I watched the movie, but will be making a point to do so soon. I think my daughter would like it – she really liked the FO, and it was hard to say goodbye to this guy. There is always room for more of the cute, more kawaii, in my opinion.
