My FO this week is another amineko, this one is a birthday gift for my aunt/godmother. While I love working with a theme, I know how easy it is to get overwhelmed by that theme. When I was younger, I loved poison dart frogs. I still do actually, they are so interesting! Well, people ran with that and I received an overwhelming amount of frog items (and not all of them were poison dart frogs). I have put my foot down and said “No More Frogs, Please”. And it has worked out ok. My aunt likes cats, but the reason I made this for her is that she left a comment on a picture of a HeartCat I made saying she wanted one. I can answer that call! The pink scarf is my daughter’s first knitting project. My aunt is also my daughter’s godmother. Her swiss-cheese scarf was maybe 20 rows and after I cast off for her, we were able to fold it and secure it through a hole. Looks pretty cute, and now she feels like she has one project done and under her belt. We have already cast on the next project.
I’m hoping to reboot my knitting mojo this weekend. I have a pair of socks in progress, but I’m not loving the attention they need. The sweater I’m trying to finish hurts my hands if I work on it too long, but it is sorely overdue. Many of my projects right now feel so finicky and fiddly and at the end of the day, between kids and work and life and such, I just don’t have the brain power to focus on it.
I’m also playing around with the blog layout / getting my own website. Please excuse the dust!
