Here’s the nitty-gritty: It’s school vacation week. My brain is full. My knitting mojo is weak. It happens.
I started working on a crochet washcloth just to have something to occupy my hands and do something creative. That seemed to have worked, because I’m now on cloth #5. This is my new “potato-chip” project, and I’m ok with that. It is an interesting experiment as I am almost blindly grabbing at the cotton stash. So far I have used up 3 leftover balls, most of a white ball, and a skein that was caked has yielded 2 cloths (and I might be able to eek out a third). The pattern is ridiculously simply: Ch 26, work 25 hdc across the row, ch 2, turn, repeat. I love the fabric and it washes well.
I am finding it really interesting to see that my gauge is changing – you can see how the colorway patterns. I’ve been reading a little more this week: Help, Thanks, Wow (love it) and we’re reading Charlotte’s Web with my daughter at night. I can feel the itch of startitis starting to creep back in and I’ve spotted some patterns that nicely match my stash, so hopefully things will sort themselves out soon.
