Generally I am not a monogamous project knitter. I tend to have multiple projects going on at all times, piles of yarn in assorted states everywhere too. It suits me and my mood, unfortunately it likely drives the rest of the family nuts. I love working on a detailed project but there are times when my brain can’t handle (or doesn’t want to handle) multiple directions and paying attention, so it’s good to have a “plain” project around. This week though I focused most of my knitting time on one project. It’s a gift so want to keep it off the blog until it is given. The yarn I’m using is pictured here (good ol’ Encore!). My reading this week has been somewhat focused on culling my stash of magazines. There is no need to hold on to them if I’m not going to use them!
I am exactly the same! I always need to have a simple knit to keep on hand for those times when I can’t really focus or I need to be able to randomly pick up and knit for a few minutes because my fingers itch to knit even when I am not up to something that involves a lot of thinking.
I love the colour of your yarn – it will be neat to see what it turns into!
I am a multi-project knitter, too. I agree that you need at least one hard and one easy project going.
I really need to cull magazines, too. Easier said than done. I love them!
Seeing as I have 7 pair of socks and multiple shawls on the needles….I like to be able to work on different projects..I get bored…
I have meeting knitting, simple and mindless, movie knitting, something that can be put down and picked up pretty easily and then there’s lock everyone out, turn off tv and mute phone knitting.
