I am this close –><– to having my current sample knitting project finished so that has had all my focus for my knitting time this week. We could also talk about how I noticed an uncrossed cable that I tried to drop back to fix, and how in doing that I made it worse and had to rip out two inches of work, but I am not in the mood. Let’s just leave it at this: things are on track and I want to finish it to move on to other projects!
I am once again participating in the EatSleepKnit Yarnathon. This year it is a space themed yarnathon, and I am a proud member of the Team Whalien pod. I picked up a skein of Blue Moon Fiber Arts Yaksi (a wool-yak-silk blend) for the first KAL, the Spiral Cowl. I’m looking forward to trying this new-to-me yarn, and of course, I’ll be keeping this project in my awesome whale bag! I’m reading Mary Poppins. Mary is not as warm a character as she is in the Disney movie, and of course there are other events and changes, but I’m enjoying it so far. One of my favorite parts was when Mary Poppins returns from her “Day Out” and she tells the children she went to Fairyland. The kids ask her about it and she poo-poohs their ideas about it and gets a bit testy. She says “Don’t you know, that everbody’s got a Fairyland of their own?”
It has never occurred to me to read Mary Poppins; what a fun idea. I bet it is quite different from the movie. I love the quote you shared.
Aw! I love Mary Poppins.
I wish I could go to my own knitting Fairyland right now. It’s a lot more appealing than the pile of paperwork sitting beside me…..
