I shared a photo in my post on Monday about my plans for different projects. Two of those yarn cakes are no longer sitting pretty on my desk. One turned into a finished object I’ll talk about on Friday and the other I have been swatching. A friend and I indulged in yarn from a Webs closeout grab-bag sale. It was a risk, but one that worked in our favor – we each got yarn in colors that we liked! One that I got was a bag of Mirasol Illaris, a DK weight 100% glossed cotton in a very pretty light Robin’s Egg blue. I swatched last night, and as I posted to Instagram, I really was hoping it would work out because I really liked how the red Knitter’s Pride needles looked under that blue yarn. This morning I abused the swatch. I tossed it in the washer and dryer with a load of laundry. The swatch emerged and was beautiful, but my gauge is off.
I was hoping to make a Tink Tank, but not at 5 st / inch. Browsing Ravelry isn’t bringing me much inspiration today either. My second choice is the Spring Garden Tee – Adult Sized, so it’s back to the needles. I also am drawn to this Boat Neck Top, so that’s on the back burner. Hopefully I will have more actual WIPs to share next Wednesday!
Love your little swatch thingy? What would you call that?
The little swatch thingy was sent to me by a friend! I’m not exactly sure what i would call it! 🙂
