This week I have been sticking with my spinning for Spinzilla & Team Louet. Looking at what other team members have already accomplished is a bit intimidating, but I am trying to keep the view that I’m still new at this and the whole point is to have fun. I can see an improvement in my own work since the summer when I started, so that is good.
But I can’t be all spinning all the time, even if I would like to. I have been able to get in 30-45 minutes in the morning in bits and pieces, and I have also devoted another 45 minutes to an hour each night. Then I start to feel it in my muscles, so I switch to a knitting project. This week then for WIP Wednesday I’m not just showing my spindle. You can also see the Dembow Hat for Dan, part of my Freshman Year in Loopy Academy. The yarn is Malabrigo Arroyo in Chircas. It is a very enjoyable knit and I think it will be fantastic when it is finished.
I have given up on all the other books I previously posted about in past Yarn Alongs. My MIL let me borrow The Rent Collector. It was a book club selection from our church, and so far I’m enjoying it.
I’ve been mostly posting to Instagram for a lot of WIP pictures, it’s so easy! Check it out, there’s a fun shot of the fiber I’m spinning – it’s so bright outside in natural light, but easy on the eyes when I’m inside.
Good luck on spinzilla! I didn’t realize it was already that time. I love seeing your photos on Instagram. It’s such a great way to see what’s going on with out fiber friends isn’t it?
Thanks so much! It’s going mostly ok I think 🙂
