At long last, summer has returned! Things are shaping up to be busy, but fun. After a stretch of books that I picked up but did not finish, I grabbed the Luckiest Girl Alive from the library this week. It’s not exactly what I thought, I can’t stand the main character, but it’s got enough to hook me for a summer read. Many reviews have grouped it with Gillian Flynn or Girl on the Train and I don’t think that’s appropriate, even though I’m only halfway through. So maybe there is something, but I doubt it. High literature it is not, but I wasn’t looking for that, so all is good. It’s full of drama, snobbery, evil-snark, and a series of unfortunate events. The Dirty Panther on the Coast Shawl, for Camp Loopy, is moving along. I am a little less than halfway done with the edging. There are many “design elements” in my edging, because apparently when I have chosen to work on this particular project (at night, watching TV) I am too easily distracted to pay attention to the directions. I’m happy with it though.
My projects are a bit all over the place. I’m easily enabled. Following the successful Dimetrodon, I’ve started a Parasaurolophus. I think it’s going to turn out super cute. I also started a Rose City Roller sock after seeing them all over Instagram. The yarn, band-less, was already wound and ready to go. I had forgotten how much I love knitting socks! And I haven’t worked a heel-flap in ages, it is great fun. This project has me eyeballing several other leftover sock yarn cakes as potentials for the next pair.
I also started another sample knit, this is a tunic / hoodie in a new chunky weight yarn. So new, the bands on the yarn are blank! The colors are quite pretty: grey / yellow / cream.
Your shawl looks nice and soft. We all add our own design elements – at least I sure do!
I love vbm patterns and I have been queing them since I started on Ravelry yet I have yet to knit one. This is one of my favorites of hers.

If you find a book as good as Girl on the Train, do let us know!!
