a note: I’m almost done with the Blogging from A-to-Z April Challenge! Check out all my AtoZ Challenge posts by clicking here. I have been knitting and reading and didn’t want to wait until next week to jump back in with a WIP Wednesday update!
I had to return the Candy book to the library. I just wasn’t making quick enough progress on it for a borrowed book, so back it went. I scrambled a bit as I didn’t know what to look for to read next! Luckily, the library has a table of books of suggestions “If you read that you’ll like this”. I spotted The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, a book that has been on my to-read list for a while. I’ve just begun last night and I’m intrigued to see where this story will go. I am working on my projects for the second semester of Loopy Academy. There are 17 rows to go on the Black and Blue cowl then I’ll be tossing it in the wash to full it a bit. I’m not wild about the felting/fulling assignment as my washer does not do a good job with that particular technique, but I’m being stubborn and just getting it done. I’ve also started a pair of Bon Bon fingerless mitts for the slipped stitches assignment. The last assignment (project involves stripes but not with self-striping yarn) I changed my mind on this week, so that yarn is not here or wound or started yet, stay tuned.
I have cast on another project that I’m calling “I’m 37, I’m Not Old” blanket. Earlier this year I saw the Age Before Beauty blanket and thought it was such a neat idea. When I was pawing through my stash for the AtoZ Challenge posts, I kept moving about several bags of wool yarn cakes. Most of them are Manos and Malabrigo, with other bits of wool including Lamb’s Pride and an odd bit of Noro. I thought I might as well work on using that stash and just start something that could use them all up! Totally selfish project. Ideally I would love to finish this project by my birthday in June, but that might be a stretch. I am really enjoying it as a go-to pick up and put down project, so simple and easy to work even when I’m bone tired. The hardest part is deciding which color to use when!
The 2nd picture confuses me a bit. You say knitting, as does the bag, but the picture looks like crocheting? It will be nice either way, I love mixing up colors and striped afghan works really well for that.
Sandy at Bridge and Beyond
Hi Sandy! Yes, I didn’t think of it before but it is odd to have a “KNIT” bag for a Crochet project (good eye!). Life is short, USE the yarn, yes? 🙂 Thanks for checking out my blog!
Great blanket! I loved Guernsey!
