This week I started my first project for the 2015 Camp Loopy. The first challenge is this:
The Challenge for Project One – I Spy. When going on a Safari, you spy all kinds of cool things (animals, trees, birds, plants, etc.) What would you like to spy on your safari? Pick a yarn color or pattern that captures that.
I settled on madelinetosh tosh merino light in Dirty Panther. That would be a pretty cool thing to spot. I liked that it’s mostly a solid colorway too, black-charcoal-steel-ish tones. The pattern I am making is the Coast Starlight Shawl, a verybusymonkey pattern. I haven’t made a shawl in a very long time and I am enjoying it so far. It’s garter stitch with a few yarn overs, so mostly auto-pilot knitting.
I finished Girl on the Train (fantastic!) and was happy I had grabbed another book last week. I’ve just started Soil, and I’m not sure about it yet. Within the first 20 pages or so there have been a few events that I was expecting, so I’ll stick with it a bit longer.
Gorgeous pattern!
Great name for a Safari themed knit! Soil sounds interesting, I’ll have to give it a whirl. Thanks for sharing.
Good colour choice!! I love a fairly mindless knit once in a while.
