WIP Wednesday / Yarn Along – What I Can Show You

WipFinally I have things somewhat back on track (I think. For now.). I am still muddling my way through secret knits (never enough time! Why don’t things work out the way you want the first time?!) and schedules and allergies. OMG the allergies. This year they seem extra bad – I haven’t been able to wear my contacts comfortably for weeks and I really dislike wearing my glasses.  Groan. Anyway, among the secret knits and sample knits I have decided to take myself to camp this summer via Camp Loopy. I’m “hiking” Mt. Fiberopolis for the summer and my first project is what you see in the picture. Mountain Colors Crazyfoot in “Summertime” and the Deux Tourbillions pattern, and I’m trying them 2-at-a-time, magic loop style. Man, was that fiddly to start, but I think I’ve got it down now. I also possible should have considered the patterning on each leg is different, so this is not a plain vanilla sock, but it is sure to keep my interest. I have to say, so far, I absolutely adore this yarn!

My reading has been this really cute book, Annie and the Swiss Cheese Scarf – I bought it after seeing it at knitting and hope it will inspire the Lorax to pick up the needles, and to be as patient as she can. After we read it she asked me to show her someday, but hasn’t asked about it again, so maybe once school is done. It could be ok! I’ve also been reading material for a tech editing class I’m currently taking. I have always been curious about how one approaches tech editing and it seems like a good trick to have in my pocket. I have plenty of experience test knitting and sample knitting, so if I can parlay those skills with some tech editing all the better for me!

What are you working on? Have you read anything good? In about 10 days I’ll have time / energy for a new book!
