Frozen Ocean Air Scarf

Scalloped Edge

Each time I crochet something I am amazed at how fast the project seems to go from “ball of yarn” to “finished”! On Wednesday I posted that I was going to start a new crochet project, on Wednesday night it was finished.

Outside in the snowWhen we woke up on Thursday morning, the snow had already started. By lunchtime on Thursday, the temperature had dropped again to below freezing. The weekend should warm up a bit and I think it is the first time in six weeks that there’s no snow in the forecast. Anyway, you’d rather know about my project, right? Pattern is the Ocean Air Scarf, a free pattern from Fiber Flux, and the yarn is Mountain Colors Twizzle in Cornflower. I modified the pattern slightly, working a total of five rows before the scalloped edge. This used just over a half-skein of the yarn, so I still have about 100 yards to do something with: mitts? baby hat? cowl? Any of those would be lovely. You can see here that I can wrap the scarf around my neck, but it is still on the shorter side as scarves go.
