Sproutlette Dress Sample

I have been working my tail off to get a moving on a few commissioned knits this week. One is the Sproutlette Dress, a sample knit for MarigoldJen. I am savoring working on this one – the yarn, a merino silk blend, is so lovely both in hand and the depth of the color! The bottom leaf design in the hem is about halfway complete, another handful of rows and then the edging can be done on the bottom and the sleeves.

Jamberry Nails and Work in ProgressA family member (a cousin of some designation) had asked me to make a Fox Cowl for her adult daughter. That is such a fun project to work on, and the bulky yarn really makes it move along quickly. I have the ears to make, and buttons to locate and then that will be finished, so maybe for this Friday! I have posted this picture all over the place, but it’s good to include it here too. I love when a theme presents itself. Orange yarn for this project, Green needles and the “Wee Bit Charmed” Jamberry Nails. It is safe to say I love these nail wraps. I’ve signed up along with a few friends (to get a discount for myself!) so please let me know if you’re interested to try them out! Who doesn’t love some fun snail nail mail?

Cody Cardi

Lastly, I’ve been giving a lot of attention to the Cody Cardi, which is not turning out the way I envisioned or hoped. It’s too short. I have a little bit more yarn, but even with that it will not make it to hip length as I originally planned. Perhaps working in another yarn (alternating rows?) for the rest of the body part might help, but I have reservations about that. The original Cody yarn, by it’s nature, will look very different from some other sheepy yarn. A mohair blend might come close. If you have thoughts or ideas I am open to them!
