Atlin: FO at last!

Today I’m test-driving my latest finished object: the Atlin Sweater.

I had the hardest time getting gauge but really wanted to use this yarn. It’s been in the stash for way too long. With a little math, I figured making the large size would result in the medium size measurements.

I really liked knitting this sweater. In a new-to-me construction, you start off making little rectangles at each shoulder, then adding stitches for the neckline. The garter section along the side and under the sleeves are a nice touch, as is the slight scoop at the bottom hem.

I anticipated a less wide neckline, so I’m having a bit of a block figuring out what to wear underneath. It’s 100% wool, and soft enough on my arms, but still I’d want to wear a base layer. The sweater does not have a lot of positive ease either, so any layer needs to be close-fitting.

If the weather would figure out what it wants to do, I might get more wear out of it before spring really returns!
