Yarn: My yarn for the letter U was purchased mostly for the name, but also as retail therapy. I added this skein of  Ultra Violet Catastrophe, on the Continuum base, of String Theory Colorworks back when Team Violet was forming after learning about my niece and her complicated heart issues. I have used String Theory Colorworks yarn before, when I made my Little Ghost Nebula socks – great yarn, great colors, and fantastic names!

Pattern: I am so happy to see days with more sunshine and warmer temperatures, and yet I’m finding myself drawn to a number of blanket projects! Jared Flood’s Umaro pattern has been in my queue since 2010, and I still have no regrets on adding it. It’s so pretty in the natural color, though I think I might like to do it in a darker color. With kids underfoot, and a dog, and my own clumsiness, I would worry constantly about getting it dirty if I made this blanket in this color.
