The weather this week did not cooperate with my blogging intentions. I finished a small shawlette, the Blacklock Shawl pattern in Manos del Uruguay Franca on Thursday night. The humidity was up there so I decided to wait on blocking until Friday. Things dried out on Friday, but not fast enough for me. I decided to let this project dry completely before taking out the pins and getting a few photos today. Yet again, the weather is a bit whackadoo – it’s cool and cloudy – and I’m going to be a lazy blogger and not go “whole hog” on trying to style a proper shoot for the finished object.
I loved working with Franca – it is just so squishable. This is the Mykonos colorway and it reminds me of the sky and clouds. Blacklock comes in two sizes, and I made the smaller one, using just 80 yards! For a bulky yarn, Franca has a generous put-up – 114 yards in a skein. I am not sure yet what I will do with my leftovers; I kind of like the idea of the wrist cuff Trey.
This is probably how I’ll wear My Clouds, as I’m calling it, this fall, pulled up closer around my neck. There is a nice overlap in the front and it doesn’t feel like a bulky accessory. Bulky yarn is great for these quick accessories and it feels great to have something finished!
Very pretty, Becca!
Thanks Jen! I should have brought it to knitting!

Thank you very much!
