Building a blanket fort

There’s not much better than a blanket. Especially one that is finished before you expected it to be. The Granny Stripes is finished!

This blanket uses the DK weight mini skeins I received in a yarn advent calendar a few years ago plus an assortment of DK weight leftovers. There was some planning of a general order of the colors, but it still has a very scrappy mish-mash feel.

It measures about 50″ x 60″, perfect for two to share on the couch. I can wear it over my shoulders and it still is large enough to wrap around my body. Shown above, folded in half, with the greyhound for scale.

Ideally it would be another 10-25″ long, but at the moment I’m out of DK leftovers. I liked it best when I could complete a whole row, down and back. And no surprise, I’m distracted. By other new projects (details to come), other old projects (one is almost an FO), the news (who isn’t), and the new day-to-day rollercoaster we are all on.

Calling this project done feels good. And now that we get to use it, it’s even better.
