It’s been a while since I checked myself on my Make Nine resolution for this year. I know I went off the rails and made a lot of socks instead. I don’t think I shared my September pair, another self-striping set:
My October socks may end up being a mis-matched pair, two half-finished objects make a finished object, yes? I’ve just about finished the first Manayunk and one self-striping. I also knit one sock as a test knit. It flies in DK weight yarn, I’ll share more details once the pattern is published (and the mate is complete)
Now, I’m seriously considering Nakniswemo and thinking about what I want to do next year. Sure, there’s no reason really to wait until 2019 except I like the idea of starting a challenge at the start of a new year. I want my next personal challenge to focus on colorwork. Sweaters for sure, mittens, and hats. I picked up the new Strange Brew book for inspiration and tips. I have the Spilly Jane Knits Mittens book that for all my intentions when I bought it at Rhinebeck, is still sitting on the shelf, brand new.
Reviewing my Ravelry queue today, I started matching some yarns to the patterns and thought maybe I should just knit/crochet my way through the queue. Starting at either end, pick a page and do the patterns on the page. I still haven’t cleared the desk, but one project at a time from the queue could be an interesting challenge on top of it all. Enough with the someday, I’ll make this and that attitude.
Crazy plans or simply ambitious?
