This summer I’m participating in the Planet June Dinosaur Crochet-A-Long. Nate has been asking me to make a Spinosaurus for a while now, and while the Dimetrodon is not quite the same thing, he was happy to see it. The pattern pack I purchased included my favorite dinosaur, the Parasaurolophus, so it’s a win all around.
I let Nate pick the colors for this project; he requested green. Lucky I have a lot of green in my stash. I ended up holding two yarns together – a light green and a dark green, both are Cascade 220 Superwash.
He scooped him up right away, gave the dino a quick hug, and then said, Now make the Parasaurolophus. Start with the crest. You’re welcome kiddo. The Parasaurolophus is next for the hook, but I’m not sure yet of the colors. I am looking forward to making it though, this was my first experience with a Planet June pattern. The pattern was clear, and clever with some savvy increases / decreases for shaping that I haven’t seen before.
I think these would be great patterns to give amigurumi a try. And while you’re at it, why not participate in the CAL for prizes?
I think the request for another was a compliment! The dino turned out very well.
Wow they’re really cool. Great work, I love the yarn colour combination you’ve used
Isn’t that adorable! I have a lot of patterns pinned, but haven’t tried this kind of creating yet. I’d like to make some chickens and/or ducks because they’re my “thing”.
Ohhh, so cute!
