I love the idea of Loopy Academy! Today I can share my first project of the Freshman year first semester, the Dembow Hat for Dan. I used Malabrigo Arroyo in Chircas and this hat is so fabulous. I’ve made hats for Dan before and the last one, is just a bit too short. I worked the pattern as written and am really happy with how it came out. I’m not going to bother blocking it, I like how the cabled ribs stretch just right to fit your head. This hat looks great on Dan and I think looks ok on me too.
I also finished a knit-for-hire this week. I knit the Failynn Fox Cowl in greys (more like the Woodlynn Wolf), with a hint of sparkle in the inside of the ear. This pattern works up quickly and while it is hard to photograph flat, it is beyond adorable on!
I hope it fits and the recipient likes it – I’m ready to knit more of these, maybe the whole set of animal friends and cover all the little kids I know.
