Hearts and Star Wars WIP Wednesday Feb.3

Wednesday is back again! This is one of those weeks where I wish I had multiple sets of arms as I would get so much farther on all my WIPs, and wanna be WIPs. Yarn is caked and ready for 4 more projects!

My friends at EatSleepKnit are hosting a Flash-Craft-Along for February, “Craft Your Heart Out”. I decided to cast on for a pair of My Rainbow Heart fingerless mitts using long-stashed sock yarn from SweetGeorgia Yarns and Lorna’s Laces. The variegated yarn is a Rainbow colorway and gives the little hearts a sort of patchwork look. Colorwork knitting like this is so great as you do move through the charts quickly and I am always looking forward to that next color change.

My copy of Star Wars: Knitting the Galaxy and it’s amazing. I’ll have to do a post to give it a proper review, but the short version is everyone in my family flipped through and wanted something! Even my no-sweater-wearing-wishes-he-could-wear-shorts-year-round son asked me to knit him the Darth Vader Pullover. Expect to see a lot of projects from this book in the coming weeks. I’ve started with one of the Droid Pillow Set, a C3PO, in Harrisville Designs Highland. Right now it’s just a rectangle of gold, simple stockinette.
