Hello 2015!

I love a fresh start. New school year, new year, new notebook, it all feels so open to possibility! 2014 was a mixed bag for me with a mix of good and not so good, but we’ve made it to see the start of another year, so things can’t be all that bad right? I have a few plans for myself in the coming year: personal, professional, blogging, and yarn-related. To start, here’s the reminder to myself:

Note to Self

When I spotted this on Pinterest it certainly gave me a laugh. I think I still have somewhere the notebooks I filled with quotes I adored in high school and college.  So yeah, I’m looking to Get. It. Done. You could probably get an idea from the Challenge Me or Attitude boards I have curated on Pinterest. This year I’m looking forward to the following:

  • Knitting a sweater that fits correctly and that I love (currently under consideration: Rocky Coast Cardigan, Narragansett, Miranda, Snowflake Pullover)
  • Crocheting something non-amigurumi, larger than a cowl / scarf (currently under consideration: Warm Hug Shrug, Sweet Squares Blanket)
  • Christmas Stockings. I found in stash Cascade 220 in white and some leftovers in dark green, enough to at least swatch!
  • Keeping tabs on my blog and being more pro-active in link-ups and comments and content.
  • I’m fairly stash happy (it seems I collect unknit yarn!) and plan to work mostly from stash. To appease my yarn buying yearnings I do have a gift certificate to my LYS and eatsleepknit, I signed up for the Gilmore Girls yarn club, and there is a Muppets themed yarn club later in the year. Also I plan to do Loopy Academy. Otherwise, I’m trying to wait until Rhinebeck to seriously yarn shop. (Can you hear my husband laughing?) I think a strict yarn diet could easily go the way of the diet Anne Lamott recently posted about. How much stash do you wish to gain?
  • My Ravelry stash and queue need a good thorough clean-out!
