Time again to consider my knitting and crochet plans for 2019!
My overall goal is to work from the stash and be mindful about the yarn purchases I do make. Did you read Olive Knits’ post about “More Yarn”? Good stuff. My intentions are good, but I know myself and how easily distracted I am. (squirrel!)
Goal-A-Long
The Stockinette Zombies podcast is hosting a Goal-A-long in 2019 to encourage a bit of accountability on your project goals in the year. I jumped in as I certainly need a bit of motivation and public accountability on the rest of the Christmas Stockings that need making. In addition to the stockings, I want to work my way through the kits I have purchased. Most of those projects are smaller and I think will be nice to work on in between the big ones.
Kits to Make
- Baa Sheep Barrett Wool Co.
- Sleepy Kitten Set Barrett Wool Co.
- Block Island Beanie
- Tiny Penguin Kit (makes 3)
- Amigurumi Tipper the Tiny Crab
- Nordic Ski hat Kit featuring Jam DK
- Fleece Stuffed Mittens (thrummed kit)
- Finish Spell Shawl with the BMFA Gradient Kit
- Louet Gems Fingering Cowl Kit from Adirondack Yarns (Rhinebeck purchase)
- 6 pairs of sock
#MakeNine2019
So that’s a pretty nice list, IMO, and doesn’t include my plans to make 2019 my year of colorwork and sweaters! My #MakeNine for 2018 didn’t get completed – I made the Chromatic Cowl (and learned brioche!) and have one Yukon River Stocking complete.
I know I am not starting with empty needles. There are plenty of WIPs to carry over. I am lining up sample knitting opportunities. No doubt I will change plans and be distracted when the next EatSleepKnit Yarnathon begins.
I knit because I enjoy it, and that’s all that matters.
So, I checked out Olive Knits, but I must confess that she is too wordy for me. I probably don’t need any more yarn ever but …
I love how organized you are about your knitting. Maybe I’ll get inspired, too!
