Over the last few weeks, I’ve been motivated to work on my works in progress (WIPs). I always have several projects going at once. The projects range from auto-pilot mode to lots of attention is required and this gives me options.
Test Knit in Progress
I’m test knitting a baby sweater for the Eat.Sleep.Knit Pattern Academy. Cables are my weakness in knitting, I adore them so much. The front of the sweater is complete and the back is started. This requires concentration, but is not difficult.
Back to Socks
In honor of Shark Week, I pulled out my hibernating Shark Week Socks. The kit and yarn are a shark research fundraiser purchased in 2018. The main yarn is white-grey-hints-of-blood-red and sparkly! So perfect and so fun.
Knit-a-long WIPs
Two newer cast-ons are knit-alongs. I’m doing my best to stay on track to complete them in the time frame. The Stockinette Zombies Zombie Knit Network is hosting two knit-alongs: the Nice to Gnome You MKAL and an Everlasting Sock KAL.
This is the first time I’ve joined a mystery KAL for a little toy. Each clue (3 are complete) is a small amount of directions and are easy to complete in an afternoon or evening.
I love my color choice for the sock KAL (Knitted Wit’s Sock in Purple and Vesper Sock Yarn in Summer Lovin’) when I swatched. I still do and I’m realizing I have to mark up the chart better for my own purposes. The chart marks the Main Color as white boxes on the chart, but my mind associates the purple with the dark grey boxes on the chart. That’s totally a user-error thing – I could restart and switch my colors, but I really like the purple background.
Up Next
On Friday I have several FO’s to share: two long languishing projects and a hats (always and forever with the hats).
