Yarn Along – June 20

Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading?

Yarn Along June 20

This is a quick & dirty post as things are a bit crazy in the nutshell – I’m trying to take it easy for my birthday today, but also trying to keep up with the kids and get ready for TNNA. I can’t believe that I am going – I’m a small fish in a big pond and there is much to do!

I am thisclose to being done with Gemini – I’m on the bottom ribbing (~10 rows?) and have the sleeves to do (~13 rows each?). I have started a Wingspan as well. It is looking very muted to me, almost like looking into the ocean with the shades of blue and green. I like it and I do believe I will get a lot of use out of it. I’m just about done with the set up triangle and I am hoping this will be a good travel project this weekend. Of course I am eying my queue and stash for a back up project, just in case!

I started reading Room by Emma Donoghue.  I like it, though I am creeped out by it. The story is told by a 5 year old who has spent his whole life in Room with his mom. Room is a 12×12 space.  They never leave (so far). They have tv and limited supplies and my word, I think of how my daughter can drive me crazy in our house I don’t know how I would do in a 12×12 space all the time!

I spotted this on pinterest the other day and of course was drawn in. I am a huge Rory Gilmore fan and always loved that she had a book with her at all times.  In an attempt to better myself (it is my birthday after all), I am going to take a clue from Rory as to what else I should read.  Of this list, I have read the ones in bold.

  1. That is a looooooooong list of books, and Rory Gilmore is a bit of a bookworm :)I read the book Room a while back after being recommended to read it, I think it is terrible what they have to suffer…I couldn't put the book down as I wanted to find out what happened next all the time.
