G is for graffiti

Yarn: I was so happy to find today’s yarn at Rhinebeck last fall. I have had my eye on Gale’s Art Etsy shop for a while, in particular the Graffiti colorway! The speckled colorway is so wonderful, I think it will make a fabulous pair of vanilla socks! They will certainly match everything! How cool are her sock blanks? I haven’t used one before, but really love this Rockstar Rainbow one!

Pattern: Today I’m selecting the Granny Circle Placemats, a free crochet pattern, from Purl Soho. When I was browsing my queue for a pattern today I noticed a lot of flittens, which could have been a nice follow up to yesterday’s post about the Fiddlehead Mittens, but I kept thinking about these placemats. I think they would be fun to do for my kitchen table, as at my seat my plate always wobbles just a little bit – not a big deal in the grand scheme of life but when it happens its enough to drive me batty and I think these would stop that and look cute! I’m also thinking about making them for the porch table, and being made in cotton, they would be super easy to toss in the wash to clean!

  1. Hi Nutmeg knitter .. I love the Granny Circles .. sadly fabric and I don’t go together .. cotton is fine .. Wish I could wear wool and all things .. and we had a great aunt who made crochet milk jug covers – they were brilliant .. sadly I don’t think I have any now ..

Good luck with the rest of the A – Z … cheers Hilary
