Planning

Reset

Hey there. It’s been a while. 2019 has been a real doozy of a year, let’s just leave it at that. We are a calendar page turn away from a new year (OMG, 2020!) and I’ve got a lot of yarn and a lot of plans.

Fresh start

One of the first things I’m looking forward to in 2020 is a new workspace. We’ve shuffled a few things around to accommodate my husband working from home. I’ve got a second story window view, great lighting, and new yarn related art. My office is now in the guest bedroom where I keep most of the yarn.

Project Plans

Notice how I said “most of the yarn”? Truth be told, I have yarn stashed all over the house. My yarn stash is quite full, overflowing in fact. One action point for the coming year to keep better tabs on what comes in versus what goes out. To start, I pulled together DK weight leftovers to crochet into a Granny Stripe blanket.

I know myself well enough to know that when I make knitting goals, or even a Make 9 plan, I don’t stick with it. Right now I’ve got 2 projects to start in the new year, or maybe a New Year’s Eve/Day cast on: Yoke O’Clock for my office and Engi for me. There are plenty of languishing WIPs to revisit too. Right now, my attention is focused on the Flickering Pullover in Alegria Grande. It’s an absolute treat to knit. There are more details to come in another post.

Professional Knitter Certification

I mentioned the Granny Stripe blanket already and I have zero expectations that will be done by this time next year. There is one project that has a serious deadline as of right now – I am swatching for the Professional Knitter Certification program. Stick with me as I turn this box of skeins into a pile of swatches and a project before September!
