Works in Progress August 19

I’m still knitting away on my works in progress and trying to stay focused on them. I can’t seem to shake the call of a KAL though, so choosing a new cast-on has distracted me.

Isn’t this a sort of moody collection?

I’m impatiently waiting for the two swatches to dry completely. This year I plan to join in on Joji’s Fall KAL with one hat for certain and hopefully a sweater. A long road trip is coming up after the KAL begins. That seems like a great time to start on a sweater. I’m back and forth between Radiate, the Lounging Top, and Basic Raglan Pullover.

My Shark Socks have heels, do they look like little fins? I turned the heels and then have stopped while I decide if I want to continue the zig-zag motif down the foot. I know I’ll finish them faster if I don’t have to follow a pattern, but I like the look of it.

Another KAL started last Friday, and I can’t pass up a quick project that will be portable, practical, and earn me points in the Yarnathon! Plus, I had the right yarn in my stash. Malabrigo was one of the first “fancy” yarns I bought. It was my weakness, so soft and so very pretty. This colorway, Whales Road, in particular, the deep jewel hues of blue, green, and purple are all together in one perfect mix. The pattern is the Little Fairies cowl, by Shelby Hamden, is a really enjoyable knit. I’m halfway through.

Tonight I’ll be putting my gnome together and I’m excited to share that mystery KAL as a Friday FO!
